The 2-list system that ended my tab-hopping forever

Here’s how I finally stopped jumping between 6 tasks and 12 tabs every work session:

I split my day into two lists:

🟩 List A — “Output Only”

  • 1–2 deep tasks that move the needle

  • No research, no planning, no prep — just action

  • These are full-screen, zero-distraction blocks

🟨 List B — “Open Loops”

  • All the little stuff: emails, small replies, minor updates

  • Gets handled only after List A is done

It sounds too simple. But it works because:

  • It removes the guilt of not being responsive

  • It gives your nervous system one goal at a time

  • It creates a real contrast between deep and shallow work

Once I stopped mixing signal types, my brain finally stopped resisting.
